Ten years ago I decided to take early retirement from my corporate position. I had been engaged in the health insurance business for many years and had reached my “glass ceiling.” I was in an environment where my values were in- congruent with those of my CEO and I determined it was time do do something else with my life. Question was – what would that be? I had spent so many years in one industry – I had to think long and hard about what my value would be outside the boarders of health insurance. Recognized as a life long learner, and a leader who was always bring new training opportunities in for my staff – I thought, why not training or maybe, executive coaching ? I had the benefit of an executive coach myself and it turned out to be a great experience and a real eyeopener for me. It was actually the catalyst for my decision to take early retirement. You see, I had never considered matching up my values to those of the organization that was paying me handsomely. I knew I had become very frustrated, but didn’t understand why until I did a values match. Shortly after I retired, I started my quest to learn all I could about executive and leadership coaching and training. I want to provide individuals who lead businesses with strong leadership skills. When leadership is competent and skills are strong – confidence is strong. Confident leaders create confident leaders. Their egos are not in the way, and they build from a place that is sincere and giving. They have processes in place. Everyone wins. With these values, concepts and a desire for continuous learning I founded the Center for leadership Skills in 2008. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve my clients. I hope to earn the opportunity to serve you in the very near future.
